Topics covered will vary from year to year. Students will engage in a variety of learning styles and strategies, but mostly it will be a ‘hands on’ course. Topics include: Decorating existing space with basic decorations, simple single band (strip) ring, bracelet making, beading, precious metal casting, and the value of gems and birthstones. This course can be used for fine arts and/or applied skills course credit toward graduation. This course also focuses on the concept of jewellery as a form of decoration and its cultural significance.
There will be optional local and international field trips related to course content learning.
